case/lang/veirs Debut First Song “Atomic Numbers” Off Their Collaborative Album

by Courtney Bissonette

Neko Case, k.d. lang, and Laura Veirs have come together to form a collaborative folk supergroup and have announced their first LP, case/lang/veirs to be released in June. Their first song “Atomic Numbers” was released yesterday, and helped mellow out our Monday. Complete with stunning harmonies and spellbinding rhythms, the lead vocals are shared between all three artists.

If the three minute song is not enough to hold you over until June, Laura Veirs featured both Case and Lang in tracks “Sun Song” and “Finster Saw the Angels,” respectively, on her last album Warp and Weft. According to a press release, their partnership was born out of an email sent by lang to Case and Veirs saying ” I think we should make a record together.” The two responded immediately without question.
