Is Princess Anne The Most Relatable Member of The Royal Family?

by Stephanie Tinsley

In a now viral video, Princess Anne of the United Kingdom was shown giving President Trump the royal shrug. Queen Elizabeth II stood alongside her son Prince Charles and his wife Camilla to greet The Donald and his first lady Melania Trump after concluding the first day of the NATO summit in London. After handshakes were exchanged between the leaders, The Queen paused to look at Princess Anne, who awkwardly stood in the doorway, observing the group from a safe distance. The Queen seemed to be signaling her daughter to join the greeting line without being too obvious. Queen Anne raised her arms in annoyance at her mum, then let out a hearty laugh, and stayed in the doorway to await President Trump’s exit. Nicely played, your highness!

Queen Anne was recognized in another video that has also gone viral showing her majorly shit talking Trump in a close circle of world leaders: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte. We would hate to be a page in this clique’s burn book, but no one hates it more than our whiny bully in Chief. Trump has already begun stirring the pot via twitter, calling Trudeau “two-faced” for mocking him in the video. I’m guessing Trump is too afraid to call out Princess Anne for her public double-snub. He’s always been afraid to go toe-to-toe with powerful women, and Princess Anne is certainly a force to be reckoned with.

This is not the first example of bad bitch energy we’ve seen from Queen Elizabeth’s only daughter. In March of 1974, when the royal equestrian was just 24, she bravely saved herself from an armed man attempting to kidnap her for ransom. Witnesses who were at the scene with her reported that Princess Anne told the captor it was, “not bloody likely,” he would run off with her– not even after being held at gunpoint. “I was basically lying flat on my back and Mark was half on top – that was how we ended up after this tug-o’-war, sort of collapsed in a heap,” Anne recalled some years later on the TV chat show Parkinson, “But I could reach the door handle behind my head and I opened the door and literally pulled my feet over my head and did a backward somersault into the road.” She has proven to the world she is no damsel in distress. President Trump does not want any smoke from this Princess. In the off chance that the remainder of the NATO summit becomes a crossover episode of The Crown and a reunion episode of The Real Housewives, we know who the HBIC of this season will be. Long live Princess Anne!
