What Does Your City Look Like?

by Web Intern

Artist Neil Freeman took subway maps from major cities around the world and posted them online, all to the same scale, without any station names, line differentiation or colors.

It’s interesting to see how different cities’ transportation systems look in relation to each other. Some are really dense, some are sprawling, some take on odd shapes. The site above compares Moscow to a daddy-long-legs, though i think it kind of looks like a neuron without the axon.

That’s New York up there. I can’t decide if it looks like something. It’s like looking at cloud shapes. Maybe if you blur your vision and tilt your head…? -Liza
