Abortion Bans: Now with 10% More Domestic Violence!
When we tell you abortion bans are dangerous, you don’t have to believe just us—listen to the science! Researchers at the National Bureau of Economic Research just dropped a new study proving that since Dobbs was overturned three years ago, states are seeing a 7-10% INCREASE in partner violence… which equals TENS OF THOUSANDS of new (reported) cases. Abortion bans not only criminalize pregnant people, but often force them to stay with violent partners when they can’t even exercise basic bodily autonomy. In case the first million times we said it wasn’t enough: ABORTION BANS ARE VIOLENCE. Period.
Planned Parenthood: Still Open. Anti-Abortion Extremists: Forever Mad.
How about a little palate cleanser? A federal judge temporarily BLOCKED the provision of the Biggest Piece of Shit Bill that completely bars Medicaid users from going to healthcare clinics that provide abortion! (Psst—this was clearly meant for Planned Parenthood, the conservative Big Bad that lives rent free in their fever dreams.)
Here’s a fun reminder: the Hyde Amendment ALREADY bans federal funds for abortion, except in extremely limited cases that endanger the life of the pregnant person or that result from rape or incest. BUT WAIT, that’s apparently not enough—why not also try to cut off cancer screenings and STI testing, and close every single Planned Parenthood?
We’ll take this temporary restraining order and give it a permanent clapback: Y’ALL ARE LOSERS!
