I adore Miranda July. I want her creativity for my own and I gobble up everything she produces, whether it be her short stories, performance art, films, or the Learning to Love You More assignments (which they no longer do!).
When I saw the pictures of her on VICE’s site, well, I craved more. The subject of the set of pictures was to take an extra from a still of a film (The Godfather, Grease, and The Outsiders are three of those that were selected) and have July recreate that scene, thus giving full attention to someone who is simply part of the background in these films.
The images are simple, yet incredibly amazing. A big thank you to Roe Ethridge for this!
