Have you ever mixed up your boring bag with someone else’s identical boring bag? If you have, you know what a pain in the ass that is. Or maybe in school, you’ll see someone with a familiar backpack and call out to them or wave, only to realize it wasn’t who you thought it was, rather someone with the same bag? How embarrassing! Well, something you may have never realized is that there’s a simple, stylish solution – buttons!
I love buttons for many reasons. I mean, they’re like people in some ways; they come in all different colors, and sizes and they can express all sorts of different thoughts and opinions. They’re also, cute, cheap, and tons of fun!
In my opinion, the best kind of buttons are the homemade kind. You can get a button making machine online and all the supplies at any craft store. The machines range in price from as low as $25 or $30 to as high as several hundreds of dollars. You don’t have to go industrial with this, though. A $35 or $40 one will more than do the trick.
Once you’ve had your “crafternoon” and made your gorgeous buttons, you’ll be ready to get on decorating. Your bags will look fabulous, you’ll feel fabulous, and you might even be able to make a little bit of cash selling your creations! If you’ve got a free weekend this summer and a little bit of cash burning a hole in your pocket, I highly recommend that you spend it creating buttons and decorating with them.
