Tomorrow night Bags for the People will be holding a Sweatshop Social at Spacecraft Brooklyn . They’ll be making reusable tote bags (or, as they say, ”totes cute totes”).
All you have to bring is your hollow leg and some clean fabric; they’ll supply sewing machines, scissors and lots o’ home brewed beer (why does that sound like a dangerous combination?).
The event is from 6:30 to 8:30 on Thursday, April 23 (OK, so that’s technically after Earth Day, but whatevs). Spacecraft Brooklyn is at 355 Bedford Ave in Williamsburg.
There will also be a Sweatshop Social at 3rd Ward on Monday, April 27 from 7 to 10. It’s free to get in, but you have to pay for drinks ($1 if you bring your own cup, $3 if you don’t).
And don’t forget, there’s another Craft on Draught coming up at 3rd Ward from 7 to 10 on May 7 for $10 ($5 if you bring a friend). There’ll be FREE BEER (that’s basically the best phrase in the English language, no?) and you’ll be getting ”Felt Up” by taking pre-felted old sweaters and making them into coasters and drink cozies and other fun stuff. They’ll provide the feltables, but feel free to bring your own if you have an old ugly Christmas sweater in need of a face-lift. RSVP for Craft on Draught to [email protected].
