It has been a banger week for the AAF crew as we rolled up into Washington DC to do what we do best: Take on the nefarious forces trying to snatch away our rights.
On April 2, Team Abortion AF and dozens of our badass volunteers REPRESENTED at SCOTUS as the court heard oral arguments in Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic. This case will decide if a Medicaid patient can sue if they are barred from using medicaid at Planned Parenthood, or any other healthcare provider “the government” deems unqualified.
And WATCH FBK host Moji Alawode-El- Singing and dancing as a mifepristone abortion pill featured on the Rachel Maddow Show!
Rachel gave us big props for using humor to drowning out the anti-abortion mob at SCOTUS with facts, music, and some top-tier trolling.
Oh, and Did We Mention We Also Marched Into the House and Senate Offices to Hold Them Accountable!
While we had AAF teams outside SCOTUS, we also sent our folks inside Capitol Hill to challenge elected officials! Watch the videos we made with Under The Desk News and Elizabeth Booker Houston as we confronted Senate offices. Elizabeth marched into Chuck Schumer’s office, and schooled them on how his voting for that dirty CR could profoundly harm pregnant medicaid patients. Also, AAF writers, Dooks and Molly, took on Michelle Fischbach’s office, confronting her staff about her role in undermining reproductive healthcare. No soft conversations here—just the hard truths.
