We start this week’s news round-up in a state hit hard by both.
Hurricane DeSantis
You would think a governor in a state whose citizens are suffering from a devastating storm would be 24/7, 365, making sure folks are getting the recovery they need — not Florida’s Ron Desantis. The DeSantis administration hates abortion almost as much as the rest of the country hates him, and now they’re going so far as to threaten Florida media outlets to not run a pro-abortion ad!
The Department of Health sent a letter to a local TV station claiming the ad is illegal under a Florida law that allows the state to remove any “nuisance” that “threatens or impairs” people’s health… which sounds exactly how we’d describe the DeSantis administration.

Georgia Was BACK to Providing Comprehensive Abortion Care For About Two Seconds
Remember like, 10 minutes ago when we told you a superior court judge STRUCK DOWN Georgia’s near-total abortion ban?
Well, of course, the anti-abortion poon patrol won’t let us have nice things, and literally one glorious week after the lower court’s ruling, Georgia’s Supreme Court reinstated the 6-week ban because of course they did.
After all, none of these decisions affect actual real-life people who don’t give one single fuck about the ideological whims of despots and are just trying to live their lives! What else can you say when we live in a system where one week you don’t have healthcare, the next you do, and then it’s snatched from your hands once again?
Meanwhile, No Breaks Were Given On A Federal Level Either, As The Supreme Court Ruled Texas Can Continue To Slowly Kill Us
The US Supreme Court upheld the Texas ban on emergency abortions, ruling that the draconian law is somehow in line with federal guidelines that require emergency abortion care.
We’d love for them to tell that to the twenty patients who sued the state because they nearly died from being denied abortions under that same Texas ban that SCOTUS ruled IS JUST FINE! The bar is in the Ninth Circle of Hell. Welcome to the Abortionsphere!
