1. Full Frontal with Samantha Bee

Premiering February 8 on TBS, this late-night chat fest hosted by hilarious Daily Show alum Samantha Bee promises to be a buffet of sarcastic, deadpan deliciousness. She’s also executive producing the show alongside her comedy
heartthrob hubby Jason Jones, proving that the family that slays together stays together.

2. Mavis! on HBO

Gospel/soul legend and civil rights icon Mavis Staples is a national treasure. So it’s hard to believe there’s never been a documentary about her until now. Premiering February 29 on HBO and directed by Jessica Edwards, Mavis! charts her career “from her freedom songs of the ’60s and hits like ‘I’ll Take You There’ in the ’70s, to funked-up collaborations with Prince and her more recent albums.”

3. Angel Haze’s “Back To The Woods” Tour

Hip-hop MC extraordinaire Angel Haze is bringing her electric live show to every corner of the globe through February 13. She’s also inviting one emerging local act in each city she’s performing in to open up for her on the road, so check out who’s on the bill in your town at angelhazemusic.com.

4. Found: After Dark Magazine

This smutty spinoff from Found— everyone’s favorite magazine of discarded and discovered notes and photos—is edited by Sarah Locke and promises to bring  readers “into dumpsters, through back alleys, and inside bedrooms” for 96 pages of voyeuristic thrills. 5. Harsh Crowd’s “Don’t Ask Me” Video

Mae Rock Camp in Brooklyn, Harsh Crowd is the coolest pop-punk group you haven’t heard of yet. The girls in the band may all only be 13, but they’ve already opened for Hurray for the Riff Raff, performed at Madison Square Garden to kickoff the WNBA’s 2014 season, and shared the stage with Indigo Girl Amy Ray. 6. Portlandia Season Six 

Fred and Carrie made their triumphant return to IFC on January 21, which means the sixth season of cable’s funniest show is now is full swing. Guest stars this time around include Louis C.K., Wayne Coyne, Glenn Danzig, Zoe Kravitz, Alia Shawkat, Steve Buscemi, Natasha Lyonne, and more, so you don’t want to miss an ep!

7. BinderCast Podcast

An offshoot of the amazing BinderCon series of conferences for female and gender-nonconforming writers, the new BinderCast, hosted by Lux Alptraum and Leigh Stein, is all about the lives, careers, and challenges of people engaged in the literary life. The ?rst season features conversations with Roxane Gay, Emily Gould, Jillian Lauren, Aparna Nancherla, Jenny Lumet, Sara Benincasa, and Morgan Parker. Snap it up on iTunes.

8. Emily’s D+Evolution by Esperanza Spalding

The ?rst album since 2012 from four-time Grammy winner Esperanza Spalding, Emily’s D+Evolution, out in March, boasts “wobbling synths, lovely jazz chords, virtuosic riffs, and theatrical melodies.” Recorded live in a studio in L.A. in front of a small audience, this recording will be the next best thing to seeing the neo-soul sensation live.

9. The Sixth Annual Athena Film Festival

Taking over Barnard College in N.Y.C. from February 18 to 21, the Athena Film Festival will be a weekend of “features, documentaries, and shorts that highlight women’s leadership.” This year, the fest is honoring heavy hitters including Mira Nair, the cast of Suffragette, Geralyn Dreyfous, Karyn Kusama, and Jeanine Tesori, so get in on the action at athena?lmfestival.com.

10. The Facts of Life: The Complete Series

You take the good, you take the bad, you take ‘em both, and there you have all 201 episodes of this essential ’80s teen-girl sitcom, plus bonus features including a cast reunion, wrapped in a hot-pink DVD box set.
