Basic Bitches Debut Badass New Song ‘Fighter’: BUST Premiere

by Erika W. Smith

The London-born, New York-based duo Basic Bitches are back with their second-ever EP today, and we are thrilled to premiere the song “Fighter.”

The music video is a dose of badass girl power, featuring Basic Bitches lead singer Naomi Scott training, Rocky-style (with a dog!!!), then fighting in an intense boxing match shot by rock photographer Andy Willsher. Naomi’s skills are real: she has a brown belt in kickboxing and the video was shot at North London’s Springhealth Kickboxing Gym, where she trained for seven years. The other half of Basic Bitches, Josh McCartney, does not appear in the video but his drumming can be heard on the track.

“Fighter” is off the new 4-song EP, “Lonely Teenage Heart.” Watch “Fighter” below and stream the full EP here

You can also check out Basic Bitches at basicbitchesband.com, basicbitchesband.bigcartel.com and on Facebook. If you’re in the New York area, you can catch them live at Bushwick’s Cobra Club on January 28.
