Medication Abortion Is Safe. Kentucky Lawmakers Are Not.
Kentucky legislators are attempting to reclassify abortion pills as controlled substances, upgrading charges to Class C and D felonies. Conveniently ignoring that MEDICATION ABORTION IS ABSOLUTELY SAFE AND EFFECTIVE, this bill is designed to scare folks into thinking that abortion must be dangerous (IT ISN’T), and to stop telehealth providers from sending abortion pills to Kentuckians who have no other options in a banned state. If we’re allowed to just make shit up and call it a law, regardless of overwhelming data and evidence to the contrary, we’d humbly suggest reclassifying the conservative Kentucky legislative members as, officially, “Full of Shit Lying-Ass Liars”, which carries a punishment of 30 years to life fundraising for abortion funds. It’s only fair.
It’s Not About Babies. It’s Always About Control.
Straight out of too many dystopian novels (and our own country’s history, tbh), the Trump Administration is sending all pregnant unaccompanied minors caught by immigration enforcement to a group shelter in South Texas, owned by a for-profit company notorious for ignoring the medical needs of the children housed there. These are CHILDREN, often pregnant as a result of rape, who are being traumatized not only from the detainment itself, but again when sent to a facility that isn’t equipped for their medical needs. We had to ask ourselves: why, when there are other shelters that literally specialize in housing pregnant minors, would they send them to Texas? We’ll give you one guess…
THE ANSWER IS ALWAYS ABORTION. If you don’t want anyone to have access to abortion care, even when they are sometimes as young as 13 and high risk, you send them where it’s virtually impossible to travel to a state where abortion is legal. This is all so horrifically predictable: the people who label themselves as “pro-life” sure do love locking kids up in cages, literally putting their lives in danger.
