This week is full of sexist White Walkers saying the quiet part out loud. In fact, it may be the official end to the era of, “keeping the quiet part quiet.” Seems like the new evolution of conservative man is ushering us into a, “When we say it, believe us,” phase and it’s time we start doing just that and act accordingly. So let’s break down some of the lowlights starting with GOPalooza.
REPUBLICAN PLATFORM DOESN’T SEEM TO HAVE A LOT OF SUPPORT
The Republican Platform was announced this week at the RNC and in it, they have pledged to give a fertilized egg the same rights as YOU – whether it is in your body or living in a vat at minus 300 degrees below zero. In a nutshell, any living thing that is NOT you has more rights than you. Soooo the 2025 in Project 2025 might also be the number of ways they are scheming to reclassify us as property of the government.
FLORIDA’S RON DESANTIS INSERTS HIS FINGERS IN… UGH
Florida Governor Ron Detritus created a hand-picked goon squad whose job it is to approve “non-partisan” language for ballot initiatives, and they just approved a BS hypothetical statement to go under the abortion ballot language designed to scare people into not voting for it. The statement INSINUATES if this initiative passes, the state will clearly go broke, never fix a pothole, and won’t have a penny left to ban woke shit in schools because every last Florida tax dollar will be spent on abortions. The statement is so egregious, AAF gives it five flaccid Peen-occhios.

In the always consistent, never hypocritical anti-abortion playbook, a new study shows that the states that have enacted the harshest abortion bans have also made contraception widely unavailable.
Because natch in a world where you claim you want to end abortion, the clear path forward is to remove access to birth control.

Erika Christensen (She/Her) is a later abortion patient advocate and co-director of Patient Forward. An organization that works to decriminalize pregnancy outcomes and ensure everyone has equitable access to abortion care—as early as possible and as late as necessary.
In this session, Erika will dive into effective ways to talk about later abortion while centering core values, support, and destigmatization. You’ll come away with a better understanding of why ALL abortion bans are not only unnecessary but work directly against widespread abortion access.
