There’s no denying that actor, singer, model, and dancer (that’s a lot of amazing titles for a 19 -year-old) Zendaya is absolutely stunning. I could stare at her picture all day, and full disclosure, I probably will once I finish writing this. That’s why it makes total sense that Zendaya is PISSSSEDDD at Modeliste Magazine for its recent photoshop nonsense.
Upon the release of her photoshopped Modeliste pictures, in true Zendaya-fashion, she fought back. She took Instagram to call out the magazine and post the “before” and “after” pics in a side-by-side comparison.
Beside the pics, Zendaya wrote, “Had a new shoot come out today and was shocked when I found my 19 year old hips and torso quite manipulated. These are the things that make women self conscious, that create the unrealistic ideals of beauty that we have. Anyone who knows who I am knows I stand for honest and pure self love. So I took it upon myself to release the real pic (right side) and I love it. Thank you @modelistemagazine for pulling down the images and fixing this retouch issue.”
That’s right, the magazine actually removed the pictures. I guess the biggest lesson here is if you’re a total badass who has confidence and self-love, people will listen to you. I actually think that’s a way more interesting conversation than one about the evils of photoshop. I feel like we’re all already on the same page there. So, Zendaya, you keep doing you and being a total badass. Thanks for showing us that loving the way you look can do a whole lot of good.
