On December 14th, actor Scott Baio filed a police report claiming that he was harassed and attacked by Nancy Mack, the wife of the drummer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, over being a major celebrity endorser of Trump. Baio has spoken out in support of Trump, most notably Republican National Convention and this past week Mack decided that it was time to stand up to Happy Days star. And she did so by demanding to know how the actor could support Trump, repeating the phrase “grab ’em by the pussy,” and imitated Trump hugging a woman by grabbing Baio under his arms.

According to TMZ, Baio and Mack were both in attendance at an event in Thousand Oaks, CA and Mack confronted Baio as to how he could support a politician who that said: “grab ‘em by the pussy.” When Baio avoided the question, Mack continued to challenge Baio and even went so far as to show him how creepy looks Trump when he hugs women. Baio has told both police and the media that Mack was “berating and cursing” him and attacked him by grabbing him “underneath his arms and shaking and pushing him,” although sources in her camp have informed TMZ that she did not intend to appear physically aggressive toward the actor.

While we do not condone everything that Mack did at this event, we have to give props to Mack for calling out Baio. It’s important for audiences to understand that Baio is a public figure who not only publically endorsed Trump, but in the past has made racist remarks toward President Obama by saying that “he’s dumb, he’s Muslim or he’s a Muslim sympathizer,” for not using the phrase Islamic terror and had retweeted a meme that referred to Hillary Clinton as a c*nt. It’s time for people to realize the kind of influence that celebrities who endorse politicians can be dangerous to our society and that supporting a candidate who is blatantly disrespectful to women is not okay. We need more women like Mack out there slamming the patriarchy, especially against someone like Baio who has made some truly disgusting remarks over the years.
Keep being unapologetic ladies, it’s going to be a long four years for all of us and the last thing we should do is normalize the sexism that Trump and his supporters promote. In tough times, stay femi-nasty.
