Friday (the 13!) If you’re not doing your own spooky stuff, get over to Brooklyn to see some fine ladies on bikes-
Join the Babes On Bikes for their (sure to be awesome) first burlesque show at The Trailer Park (304 Meserole St.) Starts at 10pm. Get there at 8 for a metal show with bands Big Gunz, Spicoli and Jarvis Earnshaw. 3$ for each show. Take the L to Montrose
Saturday:
For those who can get up early The Big She-Bang is starting at 10am and going on all day in Brooklyn, NY. The Big She-Bang is an all-day event of workshops, panel discussions, visual art, and music by and for women-identified artists & community members. @ the Church of the Messiah, located at 129 Russell Street
At 2:30 Come to Governor’s Island dressed as a zombie or commando for an all out war !
But at 6:30 Stick around in your zombie threads to see Grizzly Bear and The Walkmen (always good) also at Governor’s Island
Or at 8:00 head over to Park Slope, Brooklyn and check out a sure to be amazing show at my favorite Euro bar/ venue: Barbes. Colombian duo Marta Topferova and Lucia Pulido are playing in the dimly lit, hole-in-the-wall bar that specializes in absenthe.
