What’s A Hot Girl Walk? Plus, 6 Other Ways To Incorporate Physical Activity In Your Day

by Shayna Shah

What is a hot girl walk?

Walking is the fitness trend that is hardly a trend, but thanks to a 22-year-old Tiktok-er by the name of Mia Lind, the oldest exercise in the world is getting a rebrand. The Los Angeles native started going on what she called “hot girl walks” in 2021 as a way to put focus back on herself, instead of things outside of her control. “The way that I was living was focused on other people, full of anxiety, a bad relationship with food and a bad relationship with myself.” The hashtag #hotgirlwalk currently has 143.4M views on Tiktok, with videos of people on their daily hot girl walks whether that is on the street, treadmill, in a park or even a hot girl walk to get a coffee.

According to Mia, to have a successful hot girl walk, you must think only of these three things

1. What you’re grateful for

2. What goals you want to achieve

3. How hot and confident you are

Taking a hot girl walk is easy, but certainly, no joke—Mia suggests a 4-mile trek, or about an hour of walking a day, however, there isn’t a definitive distance, it can be however long you like. The hot girl walk can be done inside the gym on a treadmill or outside in nature, as a walk to your favorite coffee shop or even walking your dog. All you need are comfortable clothes and shoes and your favorite music or podcasts. The hot girl walk is similar to GirlTrek’s 21-day Black History Bootcamp, a walking meditation that includes relevant readings, playlists, meditation prompts to educate and inspire you while on a 30 minute walk.

This is exactly the confidence and positivity the hot girl walk strives to build. The goal of the hot girl walk is to eliminate the pressures of working out and provide the perfect way to add exercise to your daily routine. Additionally, the hot girl walk is not just for women, it’s for everyone who wants to live a happier, healthier, and mindful life.

What Are The Benefits Of Taking A Hot Girl Walk?

Healthline reports that “Walking at least 30 minutes a day, five days a week can reduce your risk of heart disease by about 19 percent. Another benefit of walking can be a boost in your immunity. One study tracked 1,000 adults during flu season. Those who walked at a moderate pace for 30 to 45 minutes a day had 43 percent fewer sick days and fewer upper respiratory tract infections overall.

Harvard Health Publishing says walking helps to ease joint pain and may provide relief for people living with arthritis. Walking five to six miles a week may also help prevent arthritis altogether.

Walking also does wonders for your mental health ,and has been found to reduce bad moods, anxiety and depression. New reaseach states that walking can help you live longer and increase the quality of your life.

Alongside the hot girl walk, here are seven more ways to incorporate physical activity into your day.
