What Happens When ‘The B—- in Apartment 23’ Meets ‘Dawson’s Creek?’

by Intern Ariana

Our cover girls are having a busy year. Tavi Gevinson may be starting her acting career, but the face of April/May, Don’t Trust The B*tch in Apartment 23 star, Krysten Ritter, might be in for a Dawson’s Creek reunion. Now that’s exciting. Actress Busy Philipps (Cali-girl Audrey Liddell) has just agreed to make a cameo as herself in the ABC comedy. Michelle Williams (Jen Lindley) has also said she would be open to a Dawson’s reunion.

James Van Der Beek plays a heavy-handed version of himself on the show. So what could the Apartment 23 writers do with the Creek’s other stars if they ever decided to cameo? I have a few ideas…

Katie Holmes as Katie Holmes

In the show, Katie would have just returned from LA to NYC. Van der Beek tries to show her a good time, but this isn’t the sweet old Joey he used to know–this is “Hollywood Katie.” None of the clubs, restaurants or shops Van Der Beek takes her to are good enough for the former Mrs. Cruise. Much to his dismay, she won’t even let paparazzi take a picture of them together. He is B-list at best, after all.

Michelle Williams as Michelle Williams

Williams has either dated or worked with a surprising number of Freaks and Geeks cast members. Busy Philipps? Check. Seth Rogen? Check. James Franco? Check. Jason Segel? Check! When she hits Apartment 23, she’s a closeted Judd Apatow superfan, obsessively trying to get Van Der Beek to help her practice lines for a new Apatow script. Unfortunately, he’s too interested in getting cast on Celebrity Apprentice to care. Plus, everyone keeps asking if she’s Carey Mulligan (Shame).

Joshua Jackson as Joshua Jackson

Out of all the former Creek residents, Jackson seems the least psyched to join in. That could translate well into his storyline. Van Der Beek is trying to impress his latest conquest when he finds out his ladylove is a huge Fringe fan. He spends entire episodes trying to get Jackson to come hang out in NY, but only ends up with ignored phone calls. When Van der Beek finally gives up hope, he randomly runs into the sci-fi actor on the street. Just as The Beek’s luck would have it, his newest paramour has just broken up with him.

How would you like to see a Creek reunion? Any ideas for a Busy Philips character? Let us know in the comments!
