Yay! for all the supportive New Yorkers who raised money and participated in the 24th annual AIDS Walk for 2009! The event, which took place this weekend in and around Central Park, raised over 5.6 million and attracted more than 45,000 participants, defying the low fundraising expectations in midst of the recession. The ‘event is among the greatest fundraising accomplishments ever in New York’s fight against AIDS,’ said Craig R. Miller, founder and producer of the event. Way to go NYC! –Regina
