Here’s my heroine of the day: this video shows Natalya Kuzmina, a 20 year-old powerlifter, squat a 225 kg weight while wearing a Superman t-shirt under her official leotard thingy. (That is almost 500 pounds – holy moly!)
As a five-foot-nothing girl who has tried and failed miserably to lift up just the bar in my very rare forays to the gym, I am impressed by this on many levels. I feel like the strength needed to squat that much weight is more than I have cumulatively used in the course of my lifetime. Kuzmina is a serious baller in the YouTube video below – check it out!
