Vendor Spotlight for the BUST Holiday Craftacular, Boston: Luke Pech of Pech Photography!

by Susan Avett

For those of you who have not heard, we here at BUST are very excited for the upcoming BUST Holiday Craftacular Boston! THIS Saturday, November 22 (yeah, that’s right, two days away) in Boston’s South End at the Cyclorama at Boston Center for the Arts from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, we will be hosting more than 100 vendors, offering make-and-take crafts, tasty treats, gift wrapping and more.  There will also be a cat cafe benefitting Broken Tail Rescue, and an ugly sweater selfie booth.  You should come.  Bring your friends. It’s going to be a dream come true.

Although we are excited to see each and every one of our vendors, we are particularly giddy about Luke Pech. In an effort to avoid awkward moments, Luke would like you to know that his last name is pronounced Pesh (thank you, Luke).  He is a self-taught photographer who mainly likes to shoot landscapes, but over the years has been photographing his “little friends.”

He was inspired eight years ago by a photographer at the Plaza Art Fair in Kansas City, MO who had a picture of little people sitting on the edge of a latte. Luke thought it was genius, but it wasn’t until five years later that he decided to dabble in his own micro/mini photography.

Luke creates his scenes from ordinary things we encounter everyday, but the fun comes from taking them out of their context and creating a whole new world. He likes to call them “micro environments.”  Luke is located in Boston, Massachusetts and most of the shots were taken either in Boston or New York City.

All photographs are printed by professionals on premium photo paper with a white border for easy framing. All prints are hand-signed and guaranteed to make your walls happy.

It may sound too good to be true. But it isn’t. You can visit Luke Pech and many other wonderful vendors this Saturday at the BUST Craftacular Boston.  We can’t wait to see you there!
