U.K. Mag for Plus-Size Women Launches Print Edition

by Ivanna Avalos

Former America's Next Top Model winner, Whitney Thompson, graces the cover of the current issue.

Slink Magazine, a bi-monthly London-based fashion and lifestyle magazine geared towards women sized 14 & up (U.S. size 10 & up) that started online last year, has launched a print edition.

The magazine, created by former fashion design student Rivkie Baum after she was frustrated with the limited sizes, features strictly plus-size models and focuses on fashion for curvy women. Baum believes “as women we have to stop chasing ‘ an ideal and learn to be happy with who we are and learn to dress your shape and make the most of your body. Fashion is not about size it’s merely a mindset.” Amen!

While I would not be considered plus size, I do understand the struggle of trying to find the right fit: I can never seem to find a pair of jeans that comfortably fit my proportions; they either gap too much in the back or are too tight in the hips or too baggy in the thigh. And don’t even get me started on length. I am super short and need to hem my pants…but I digress.

You can look through their first four issues and preview the fifth issue on their website
