Transgender Teen Drama Coming to the CW

by Katie Fustich

Break out the party hats, people! Cable network The CW has just announced they are currently developing a “raw, quirky family drama” with a transgender teen as the main character. Currently titled ZE, the show will focus on a female-to-male teenager living in Texas.

The program will be written by award-winning playwright Kyle Jarrow (Armless) and produced by Michael London (Thirteen, Milk). But really, anyone could be writing this and I would still be stoked beyond belief. The representation of transgender men and women in mainstream media is practically nonexistent, so this is a potentially huge step!

Any other details (cast, storyline, etc.) are still on the down-low as things continue to develop, but we’ll definitely be keeping you posted and hopefully someday binge-watching it on Netflix!
