Today marks the release of a new remix package from Tori Amos and Peter Rauhofer. The four-track EP, Flavor – Peter Rauhofer Remixes, was culled from Amos’ most recent album, Gold Dust. Rauhofer is a club mix veteran, having created remixes for the likes of Madonna and Cher, and earning himself a few GRAMMYs along the way.
Gold Dust features new recordings of songs from Amos’ prolific repertoire, performed by the Metropole Orchestra. The Flavor EP, in turn, re-imagines these orchestral tracks for the dance floor. Amos, backed by a symphony, translated into a club mix, makes for some pretty intoxicating listening.
Amos is no rookie when it comes to crafting classical and dance interpretations of her music. In the past, remixes of her songs have hit #1 on both UK and US charts. This new rendition of “Flavor”, along with the other tracks on the new EP, are sure the fare equally well.
In addition to this new EP, Amos has also launched The Gold Dust Instagram Map to coincide with the release of her new album. The singer encourages fans to upload pictures and anecdotes about their reactions to and experiences of Gold Dust. Some of these fan offerings will be selected and arranged into a Gold Dust map of the country, and winning selections will receive signed copies of Gold Dust.
