Tina Fey To Star In Muppets Sequel?!

by Amy LaCount

Ever feel akin to Cookie Monster cheerily exclaiming, “Me so hungry,” when it comes to news on Tina Fey? Then you’re in for a sweet treat: according to Vulture, Fey is currently slated to be in the Muppets sequel, following 2011’s smash hit headlining Jason Segel and Amy Adams, and more importantly, Kermit and Miss Piggy.

Fey, who always seems to be juggling a dozen projects, is even busier than usual – what with wrapping up the fan and critic-favorite 30 Rock, acting in a comedy opposite Paul Rudd in March, and teaming up with Amy Poehler to host the Golden Globes this Sunday (swoon!), she doesn’t show any signs of slowing down, which is all the better for us.

Although Poehler/Fey is probably one of the most dazzling duos of all time, producing such hits like Mean Girls, Clinton/Palin impressions, and this incredible vintage photo from their days in Second City, if Fey were to join the Muppets sequel, she would be reviving another formidable pairing – with Ricky Gervais (as they both starred in The Invention of Lying). The talented and dryly funny Ty Burrell of Modern Family would also participate in the boisterous fun.

If Fey does indeed accept the role, she would be playing a Russian gulag prison guard. We can only wish on the morning star that she becomes a part of this stunning rainbow connection!
