I’m totally in a glass case of emotion right now. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are making a cameo in the sequel of Anchorman, along with pretty much everyone and their mom. Recent pictures feature the two ganging up on Sasha Baron Cohen, with crow bars, no less. Is the former Weekend Update duo partaking in the news anchor rumble to end all news anchor rumbles? Here’s to hoping.
It’s good to see some ladies crashing the boys club at the Channel 4 News Team. Fellow Saturday Night Live alum Kristen Wiig is also set to appear as Brick’s love interest. Perhaps Christina Applegate’s Veronica Corningstone has paved the way for more females in the media since the primarily male-dominated 1970’s. That, or everyone at SNL wants a piece of the pie. Probably the latter.
Regardless, it was still admirable to watch Corningstone work to be taken seriously as a journalist in the first film. Especially while she was dealt stories about cats wearing silly costumes.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
