I Want to Go to There: Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Are Going on Tour Together!

by Zoë Lourey-Christianson

Legendary Saturday Night Live alumni and one of the most beloved comedy duos of all time, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, are going on a comedy tour!

The two fittingly announced on Galentine’s Day that they will be traveling to four cities for the “Tina Fey & Amy Poehler: Restless Leg Tour”: Washington, DC, Chicago, IL, Boston, MA, and Atlantic City, NJ. They’ll be giving fans a glimpse into their decades-long friendship by sharing stories, conversations, and of course, jokes! But, to be honest, these two could get on stage and chew gum together and we’d be all over it.

The hilarious pair and first-ever female duo to host the “Weekend Update” on SNL first met in the Chicago improv scene in the ‘90s and have both since built stunningly impressive careers. This is the first time Fey and Poehler have ever done a live tour together, though the two are no strangers to live performance and have a chemistry that is mesmerizing on-screen and in-person (remember when they hosted the Golden Globes three years in a row?). I mean, truly, they are the crème de la crème of entertainers.

Collectively, the resume between Fey and Poehler reads like a list of the best things to come out of the entertainment industry in the past twenty years. Fey created and starred in the award-winning 30 Rock, wrote the screenplay and later the Broadway adaptation of iconic pop-culture staple Mean Girls, was head writer at SNL, wrote a bestselling memoir, Bossypants, created the Emmy-nominated Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, voiced a lead character in Pixar’s Soul, and starred alongside Poehler in Baby Mama and Sisters–and that’s not even half of it.

Poehler similarly was the face of one of the most-loved TV-characters that will ever exist, Parks and Recreations’s Leslie Knope, executive produced the gripping, Emmy-nominated Russian Doll on Netflix, Amazon’s Harlem, and Adult Swim’s Three Busy Debras, directed the Emmy-winning documentary Lucy & Desi, co-founded her organization, Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls, wrote her own bestselling memoir, Yes Please, and is a current co-host, along with Maya Rudolph, on Peacock’s Baking It, among several other things. No one reading this has the time to hear every amazing thing Poehler and Fey have been a part of.

With such incredible bodies of work, the two are sure to have plenty of material to cover on the “Restless Leg Tour”, and fans can expect a special experience. If you want to make it even more special, there will be a limited number of VIP tickets available for purchase, with pre-sale tickets available Wednesday, February 15th at 10 AM local time. General tickets will be available at 10 AM local time on Friday, February 17th. You can check out the tour’s website for more information and to purchase your tickets, or visit Ticketmaster.
