Thursday in Brooklyn: Save Haiti Fundraiser/Silent Auction

by Intern Stephanie G

By now, you should be well aware of the devastation that occurred in Haiti last week from the massive earthquake that shook the small country. Across the globe communities are pooling resources in a massive effort to bring relief to the millions in need. For those of you in the New York area, one such effort is taking place this Thursday, January 21 in Brooklyn.

Hosted by Monica Sharp and the girls of Finderzkeeperz, local musicians and artists will be providing tunes and fashion (available for bid during a silent auction) at the Night Owl, located at 171 North 4th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11211. For those of you willing to donate $30 or more, an open bar will be provided. For those broke folk like myself, the option to bring food or clothing donations is also welcome. You get to help a good cause all while shaking your groove thing to the musical stylings of Dances With White Girls, Cobra Krames, Dirty Finger, Full Time Fun, Arq, and K!O. All proceeds will benefit Yele Haiti. The show runs from 7pm to 12am. Hope to see you there!
