This Year’s Craftacular Was Packed with Holiday Spirit and Artsy Fun

by Intern Kaisa

A resounding thanks to the vendors and BUSTy-attendees who made the BUST Magazine Craftacular & Food Fair a stellar success this past weekend! The event saw approximately 5,000 craft-loving-folk come through Saturday and Sunday to peruse funky handmade goods, nosh on delicious grub, and partake in crafty projects with BUST’s founders, Laurie Henzel and Debbie Stoller.
The building was buzzing all weekend with shoppers looking for that special holiday gift, and an eclectic mix of vendors offered unique options that blew away anything you’d find at Target. Maybe you left with awesomely creepy, acrylic-denture jewelry by Sarustar or a print of a historical event re-imagined with aliens and giant squid from Alternate Histories. Perhaps the prized take-away of the weekend was a DIY craft, such as a terrarium or snow globe straight out of the BUST DIY Guide to Life. There were countless more funky finds and artistic discoveries this weekend.
We were wowed by the creativity of the vendors–the only drawback was trying to walk out while carrying a million packages. Kudos to all of the the volunteers who helped out, the fantastic vendors, and especially, to our lovely supporters! We’ll see you all next year for even more holiday fabulousness. In the meantime, tell us about some of your favorite moments!
