This Weekend: Capsule Neighborhood Network

by Genevieve Bleidner

Want to get amazing discounts on some holiday shopping this year (and maybe score some awesome stuff for yourself) while helping out with the Superstorm Sandy hurricane relief efforts? Then come out this Friday and Saturday, November 16th and 17th, to the Capsule Neighborhood Network  in New York City.

Capsule is a fashion and lifestyle trade event that is offered in cities around the world, showcasing a mix of high end and independent designers and up-and-coming brands. This special show will feature retailers, showrooms, and restaurants in the LES, Nolita, and East Village. All are offering discounts and sample sales to bring shoppers back to the East Village to help make up for some of the losses during the hurricane and black out.

Among the shops will be the Wolverine Company Store’s pop-up shop, located at 242 Elizabeth Street, which will host a special charity meet and greet with their featured female designers such as Samantha Pleet, Wolverine footwear designer Carrie Hill, and jewelry designers from The Shiny Squirrel on Friday from 7-9 pm. Drinks and hors d’oeuvres will be served, and 20% of all sales from the weekend will be donated to the Red Cross to support hurricane relief efforts. Like all Neighborhood Network locations, they will also be collecting other donations.

For a complete list of Neighborhood Network participants, visit the Capsule site. Come out to shop, support the relief efforts, and check out the Wolverine Company Store’s pop-up to meet some awesomely talented lady artists. See you there!
