Bebe Wood, the star of NBC’s The New Normal, is only nine, but she has somehow channeled the spirit of Grey Gardens’ Little Edie Beale. I don’t know if she’s got an Ouija Board hidden behind her back or what, but this girl is great. Go here to see her pitch-perfect impression.
Her overall look, her expressions, and her voice inflections are dead-on. What’s even crazier is that the impression is all her own. Two days ago on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, fellow New Normal actor Andrew Rannell divulged that Bebe loves the documentary Grey Gardens, and approached The New Normal creator and director Ryan Murphy with her kickass impression all by herself. Murphy thought it was so funny that he wrote the impression into the show.
Definitely check out The New Normal on Tuesday nights at 9:30/8:30c on NBC. I don’t often plug shows, but from what I’ve seen, this one is pretty amazing.
