This Feminist Conference In DC Makes Us Wish We Were In College Again

by Marissa Dubecky

BUSTies, unite!

We’re extremely excited to be media sponsors of the 2015 National Young Feminist Leadership Conference happening in Arlington, VA (right outside of DC) this weekend. This awesome event will be a great opportunity for young feminists to network with like-minded ladies and learn about important issues women are facing in our country and around the world. Also, the lineup of badass female speakers in attendance is pretty incredible:

– Feminist theorist Kimberle Crenshaw (sa-woon)
– U.S. Representative Carolyn Maloney
– Activist Dolores Huerta
– Movement leaders Terry O’Neill, Katherine Spillar, Ellie Smeal, Darlene Nipper
– Plenty of amazing student leaders, young activists, and young professionals

All the feminist topics that get us fired up and inspired to make a difference will be covered: reproductive justice, eco-feminism, intersectionality, campus organizing tactics, violence against women, political organizing, social media and web-based activism, and more.

If you can make the dates, be sure to check it out for some serious feminist motivation (and a free copy of BUST’s latest issue!).

Advanced registration is closed, but attendees can register at the door. Event is held from March 21-23.
