The Silly, Kitschy Holiday Ornaments That Deserve To Be Adorned All Over Your Christmas Tree

by Madigan Landess

This is a PSA for all of the Christmas ornament hoarders and ladies who need festive decorations that are as extra as they are (me). This silly, chic, and adorably-odd list of our unique ornaments will glow up any tree. No need to get rid of your traditional, glass ornaments, just spice things up by adding in some of these quirky Christmas goodies. Not to mention these make a great last minute gift for a white elephant or just for a gal-pal who needs a good LOL moment this holiday season.

  1. Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Etsy

With her words, “fight for the things you care about” advertised on her front, this is an ornament for any feminist or professional Judge Judy binger. Even though the Supreme Court Justice tragically passed away at the end of last year, she can continue to dazzle us with her feminist powers from our Christmas trees.

  1. Carol Baskin, Paper Source

Hey all you cool cats and kittens, this one is for the ultimate Tiger King fan. Or perhaps the start of a very heated debate at your Christmas party. Like did Carol Baskin really kill her husband? Is it sexist to hate her more than Joe Exotic? Regardless, this ornament is a quirky inception for both sides of the argument.

  1. Tits The Season, Amazon

This is a great gift for a breast cancer survivor, or white elephant gift. Celebrating all boobie shapes and sizes, you can show your support (pun intended) for a friend, or even express some self-love through this handmade, girl power decor.

  1. Watermelon, Amazon

This is an adorably-fruity addition for the Harry Styles fangirls who regularly have Fine Line on repeat. Or perhaps a tribute to the “Watermelon Sugar” concerts I know we all have in our cars.

  1. Bernie Sanders, Etsy

Long live the meme that defined 2021 and the inspiration for the halloween costume I definitely wore to all of my parties this year. This felt ornament is sure to bring a laugh to meme lovers— transporting the Senator into a more festive realm, outside his entertaining visits to famous paintings, film scenes, and historic moments in time.

  1. Stained Glass Vulva, Etsy

Check out this beautiful, unique stained glass ‘vulvament’ that is an absolute must have for an aesthete who fiercely embraces her feminine power. Show off your pride for just how cool women’s bodies are, and continue the movement to normalize the conversation in this fun and festive way.

  1. Potted Plant, Etsy

plant 57f89

This is the perfect festive addition for the plant moms who can’t help but add some extra green to their Christmas trees. And at least for the rest of us not so green thumbs, these clay ornaments are a great substitute for a plant we wouldn’t have to worry about dying.

  1.  Cheese Board, Paper Source

This ornament is a level of charcuterie excellence I can never achieve, but am looking to for inspiration for all my holiday parties. Pass the cheese, please!

  1. LGBTQ Planets, LookHUMAN

With each planet representing a different LGBTQ group, this ornament is a great gift for the sci-fi lover, who also loves to show off their pride in their communities— and across the galaxy!

  1. Betty White, Etsy

An icon who deserves to be front and center in our ornament lineup. Golden Girl, LGBTQ activist, and who I truly wish would invite me to brunch one day. However, since that wish still remains a fantasy, perhaps I can (literally) buy her friendship, and display it proudly as a festive decoration. Betty White has proven to be a witty (and truly hilarious) trailblazer for women, as she refuses to bend to stereotypes. Which makes her great holiday decor for the feminist who continues to inspire by staying true to her badass self.
