The Morning After

by Lisa

It’s no surprise that BUST readers know how to get down. Last night’s issue release party at Union Pool in Brooklyn was a smashing success full of fresh beats, sick jams, and lots o’ BUSTy love. Today at HQ, we relied on a few key elements to get us through the day: too-good-to-be-true mac n cheese and Iggy Pop on repeat. Dawn will be blogging all about the party tomorrow but until then, feast your eyes and ears on this awesome snippet of gospel singer Sister Rosetta Tharpe. She was a hit in the ’30s and ’40s, shakin’ up the music world with her rockin’ soul. It’s no wonder Little Richard and Johhny Cash were huge fans and our faves the Noisettes wrote a song about her. Man, can she jam!
