Are you a feminist, a woman, a filmmaker, or a combination of all three? The London Feminist Film Festival is putting out an open call for submissions for their second-annual festival.
Their website states that “women directors from all countries may enter” and that films should be “feminist in their representation of women” or “deal with feminist issues.”
Last year, over 1,000 people came out to the festival to watch films like Lesbiana – A Parallel Revolution and The Witches of Gambaga, as well as participate in panel discussions led by renowned feminist critics, directors and artists. The feminist classic A Question of Silence was also shown, followed by a panel discussion with British Film Institute festivals producer Helen DeWitt, feminist activist Elaine Hutton, and Dreams of a Life director Carol Morley.

International filmmakers are also encouraged to submit. Short films as well as feature lengths will be considered.
This festival is an opportunity to meet and greet with women in film, discuss feminism in all its forms and watch great films about great and pressing issues.
Submissions are open until August 31st on the London Feminist Film Festival’s website.
