The 7th Annual Casserole Party Gets Cookin’!

by Bridgette Miller

Calling all deep-dish divas: The 7th Annual Casserole Party is coming up, and there’s still time to register your recipe!

The Casserole Party is hosted by Emily Farris, BUST contributor and author of Casserole Crazy: Hot Stuff For Your Oven (Penguin, 2008), and takes place in Brooklyn, NY and Farris’s native Kansas City, MO.  The Brooklyn Casserole Party will be held on Monday, October 24th at 8 p.m. at The Brooklyn Kitchen; details for the Kansas City Casserole Party are TBA. There are still a few days to register for the Brooklyn event; head over here to submit your original casserole for competition by Friday, October 21st (be sure to read the Rules & Regulations first!).  BUST’s own Lisa Butterworth will be putting her great taste to use as one of the night’s judges.

It might sound cheesy, but it’s for a good cause: The Brooklyn Casserole Party will raise money for Greenpoint Soup Kitchen.  Last year’s Casserole Party was a delicious success; over $1,100 went to the soup kitchen, and 44 teams competed for a grand prize of gorgeous Le Creuset cookware.
