Former Gossip Girl actress rocks some serious latex for her new music video with The Pretty Reckless. The video feels like a long trailor for Queen of The Damned, but the song is pretty epic. Her scratchy broken-sounding vocals are undeniably captivating and the metal guitar riff introduces the hook perfectly. Despite the somewhat campy lyrics, Taylor Momsen is really consistant with her image and sound. She dresses like a badass rock n roll witch and never apologizes for it.
The Pretty Reckless has built up quite the cult following, and the band will be touring with Evanescence this fall. I’m happy for her! Making the transition from acting to singing has always been tricky, and I think fans sometimes try to limit celebrities, saying, “No, you do this and only this..”
The Pretty Reckless is not exactly the teenie bopper pop you would expect from a young starlet and Taylor certainly doesn’t try to market herself that way.
