Tame that Yeasty Beastie

Back in our June/July ’07 issue, we published a little article called "Fire in the Hole: DIY Yeast Infection Remedies to Make You Feel like a Natural Woman." BUST reader Danielle Latman from Carrboro, NC, was nice enough to send in her own tried and true method:

Dear Anti-Vaginal Cream Davis and BUST,

Thanks for the informative piece on DIY healing yeast infections. The best remedy I have tried is grapefruit seed extract, a tincture available at health food stores for around $10-15. When I was in Hawai’i I developed a bad yeast infection after taking antibiotics, and the ladies I spoke with recommended it to me. You put several drops in water or juice 2 to 3 times each day; it tastes incredibly nasty but cleared up my infection within the week with no recurrances. Please pass this on to your readers!

Sincerely, Danielle

Hopefully I won’t have to try your remedy any time soon but it’ll be nice to know it when I need it. Thanks for caring and sharing.
