Style Wars

Friday night after I saw Poultrygeist I went with my gay boyfriend to Style Wars: a stylist battle hosted by House of Diehl. It was at the Stoli Hotel, which is some kind of pop up party spot and really has nothing to do with a hotel at all. It did have open Stoli bar all night and I camped out by the door where the food came out from and managed to catch a nice light dinner of tapas. If you are ever looking for me at a party, and food trays are circulating, it is a bet that I will be right in front of the door the food comes out of. Either that or at the bar with my eye on the door the food comes out of. My thoughts after the jump playa!

The event was really interesting. Contestants were given racks of materials and a model. They were encouraged to bring any materials they wanted but all contestants were allowed to use them. They had to cook up a cute creative number in less then 5 mins. The sound system sucked so I have no idea who the judges were or what they had to say. What I do know is I was totally inspired by the amazing outfit above by Art of Shade (I hope she means "throwing shade" like in Paris Is Burning). Her creation incorporated an Ikea pop-up lamp and battery powered lights! I am totally rocking this look hot summer night style next time Will (the gay bf) invites me to some craz-o fashion event. The pic above is of the final look but I was into it before the batting got drapped over it.

This blogger loved my look and included me in a collage of the night which is so flattering, that’s me in the cream dress (remeber my gold dookie chain from the holiday gift guide!):

That lovely frock I am wearing is created by Jaime of Batter Recharger under her line Luncheon Ladies. The band rocks and her clothes rule. If we teamed up we would distroy this competition I am practically the style Macgyver. Keep an eye out for next years battle. Oh and dip into one of the events at the temp Stoli Hotel before it disappears, there is a spa in the back! It was all booked by the time I got to the event you could get a message and get yo nails did.
