I like to complain that there is simply not enough new RAWK in the world these days, everything’s all wimpy electronic blips and bleeps, or slow, mellow folky beard rock – which is all fine and good, but sometimes you really just need an old fashioned, ass-kicking power pop rock record! So I was happy to hear about Kentucky based Sleeper Agent, who play fast, catchy and hard. Lead singer Alex Kandel’s vocals are reminiscent of Chantal from Morningwood, and the crunchy hooks are nice and heavy- they also remind me a bit of Diamond Nights, (hmm whatever happened to them?)
