Sugarcraft, an exhibition of over 50 artists from all over the world opens June 27th at Kasia Kay Art Projects in Chicago and runs through till August 9th. The theme of the exhibit focuses on indulgence in the arts and it also breaks down the boundaries between art and craft. For example, one artist “invokes a cake’s frosted layers as a personal symbol of subtle inter-familial divisions.” This exhibit gives entirely new meaning to the term “foodie”, making the culinary arts lean more towards conceptualized art. As a true food lover, I must say that I am way excited to think about food in this whole new way! And of course, I can’t forget to add that all of the pieces look absolutely de-lish! Added bonus alert: one of the show’s sponsors, Wholly Craft! is planning to make part of the exhibit available for take-out!
Some sweet and sugary artsy treats…
