What better way to move into 2019 than obsessing over a new Solange album?
Yes, she has blessed us again.
Solange says by the end of this year, we can expect to see a new body of work released.
We were collectively blown away by Solange’s third studio album, released in 2016, A Seat At The Table, which explores themes of Blackness, home, and identity. Stylistically and lyrically rich, it provided us with honest and raw insights into her life and experience, and was so beautiful it left many in awe.
In a recent interview with The New York Times, Solange tells us we can expect her new album to be “warm… fluid and more sensual.” She expands on this, stating, “There is a lot of jazz at the core… but with electronic and hip-hop drum and bass because I want it to bang and make your trunk rattle.” Possibly more dance vibes?
The album has yet to be named, but Solange has been working on the album in Topanga Canyon in California, New Orleans, and Jamaica—all places with a unique energy and vibe that will surely influence what’s to come.
We can’t wait to see what magic she creates this time around.
Come through honey, we’re ready!
