To all you West Coasters! This Thursday, January 14 at 7:30 p.m. American Cinematheque at the Egyptian Theatre Presents its 5th Annual Focus on Female Directors. This event features short films from cinema pioneers, Oscar nominees, documentary filmmakers, international award winners, and some of the brightest upcoming artists emerging from the festival circuit.
Included in the set is Jane Campion’s “Peel”(a.k.a. “An Exercise in Discipline”). Campion is best known for her films “The Piano” starring Holly Hunter and Anna Paquin, and “In the Cut” starring Meg Ryan.
