Piney Gir, the London-based Kansas-born musician and one-time member of all-girl art-rock band The Schla La Las, will be taking to the decks at the BUST Summer Craftacular at York Hall in Bethnal Green on May 17, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. We could not be more excited! Described as “the indie Dolly Parton”, her style ranges from indie-pop to alt-Country.

Early BUST Craftacular birds will score her recent single “Keep It Together” in our goodie bags (you can also listen to it now here), a taster of what’s to come on new album “mR. hYDE’S wILD rIDE”, being released in June on Damaged Goods in Europe, and in the autumn on GreyDay Records in the US. Expect jangly pop with girl-group harmonies. Head on over to her blog, too, for personal insights such as “Putting Out A Record Is Hard! (AKA: The Indie Chick Challenge)”.
BUST Craftacular vendors I Am Acrylic have recently made some covetable acrylic merchandise for Piney Gir, such as this “Sometimes It Rains in My Heart” pendant. And these pieces will be sale at the BUST Craftacular too.

Also taking to the decks this Sunday are Maryam of Sugarfoot Stomp – a Birmingham-based DJ troupe (due to logistical challenges we couldn’t get them all along), “a group of time-ladies sent to scintillate the ears with all fine music from the 1920s to the 1960s” – and BUST Craftacular regulars Spinning Yarns. Shop to the beat!
