Iconic Japanese Punk Pop band Shonen Knife rocked the house down with two shows at Brooklyn’s Littlefield on their Everybody Happy 2025 U.S. tour. Canadian Garage Rock band, The Pack A.D., started the evening off and played a killer set. Both Maya Miller’s prowess on the drums and vocalist/guitarist, Becky Black’s penetrating vocals and killer guitar riffs, showcased the band’s eclectic mix of pop, punk, psychedelic, and blues. Rousing the audience and priming them for the headliner.

Shonen Knife took the stage and received an incredibly enthusiastic reception from the adoring crowd. Playing many familiar favorite songs like “Bear Up Bison,” ”I Am a Cat,” “Cookie Day,” and the Feminist anthem “Twist Barbie.” As well as newer material form the 2025 expanded vinyl version of their 2023 release Our Best Place. Available only at the band’s live show merch table and along with the cassette format of their 1981 debut Minna Tanoshik. Band members, who’s charm factor is off the charts, Naoko Yamano on guitar/vocals, Atsuko Yamono on bass/vocals, and Risa Kawano’s solid drumming and vocals delivered a super charged set which had the audience bopping along with fervor through out.
If you want a break from all of the world’s insanity to experience some unadulterated joy, definitely catch both of these killer bands this time around.They will most definitely make everybody happy.
