Seinfeld T-Shirts Brilliantly Satirize Contemporary Culture

by Brenda Pitt

If you gals and guys haven’t checked out the ever-popular @Seinfeld2000 Twitter account, you’re missing out. The dude behind it brilliantly uses Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld’s Manhattanite characters to critique contemporary obsession with celebrity and technology. Tweets include banal and hilariously self-involved reflections on topics ranging from Breaking Bad to kale, and they include unbelievably hilarious misspellings. The account stays true to the sitcom’s scathing satire of the hilariously vain characters.

Although he won’t reveal his identity, the creator of Seinfeld2000 is answering fans’ demand for t-shirts inspired by the site. In collaboration with innovative and totally hip designer Max Wowch, he has created yet another way to poke fun at consumer culture.

In a hilarious release, the guy behind the account incoherently writes, “Look i know a lot of peopole are going to call me ‘sell out’ or whatever for doing these shirts, and to those poeple I just want to pre-emptevely say SCREW OFF, ok, i only did this bc lots of peple over the last few months have been asking me about t shirts and since I love my folowers, I want to do whatever I can to make them happy. Max and i, were not realy planing to make a lot of money with this, like your not going to see me and Max hanging out w Kate Upten on a yatch in a week and drinking Grey Goose straihgt out of the bottle.”
