New York Attorney General Steps Down Following Assault Allegations: Link Roundup

Eric Schneiderman, New York’s attorney general of eight years, resigned this morning amid allegations of physical assault. The New Yorker reports that four women who have been romantically involved with Schneiderman have accused him of hitting, slapping, and choking them on several occasions, without consent and typically after drinking. Most recently, Schneiderman is known for his role in prosecuting Harvey Weinstein. “How can you put a perpetrator in charge of the country’s most important sexual-assault case?” one of Schneiderman’s accusers, Michelle Manning Barish, told The New Yorker. Bari Weiss Is Bari Weiss-ing Again

Bari Weiss’ latest New York Times op-ed, “Meet the Renegades of the Intellectual Dark Web,” claims conservative thinkers online are being “silenced.” “Bari Weiss’ entire schtick is pretending that unseen forces are preventing her and those like her from making the exact arguments that she’s making, right now, in the exact venue where she’s making them, right now,” tweeted writer Stephen Silver. It’s hard to forget Melania Trump’s 2016 speech (or should we say the reprise of Michelle Obama’s 2008 speech?) and Melania is doing her best to bring back the moment with yet another instance of plagiarism. Harassment Outside Abortion Clinics Have Doubled In The Past Year

A new report from the National Abortion Federation shows that death threats and targeted hostility from anti-abortion crusaders outside clinics have nearly doubled, and accounts of trespassing have more than tripled. The NAF says that in 2016, there were 580 incidents of obstruction and intimidation, and the number rose to 1,700 in just the past year. Read more at ThinkProgress.
