Resident nasty woman Samantha Bee set the record straight about Donald Trump’s absurd abortion comments. During Full Frontal on Monday, Bee ripped into the claims about “partial birth abortions” made during the third presidential debate.
“Partial birth abortions aren’t a thing,” Bee literally yelled into a megaphone to get her point across. “It’s a non-medical term the National Right to Life committee made up in the ’90s for a procedure that was outlawed in 2003 by the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act.”
Moderator Chris Wallace asked the candidates about partial birth abortions early in the debate, apparently confusing them with late-term abortions. During her show Bee reenforced the difference, and explained how rarely late-term abortions occur (only 1.3 percent of abortions are late-term).
Bee also said it seemed that Trump confused abortions with “bear attacks,” given his statements that doctors can, “Rip the baby out of the womb in the ninth month, on the final day.”
Bee then clarified, “Removing a baby from a woman’s womb in the ninth month isn’t an abortion, it’s a birth.”
