Ruby Rose Strikes Back After Topless Photo Leak

by Holiday Black

Orange is the New Black’s newest inmate, Stella Carlin (AKA Ruby Rose), has been taking over Internet since her debut on the show in season 3. Ruby Rose fans may have seen her photo on the cover of The Untitled Magazine, but the actress is now calling for a boycott of the magazine because – get this – Untitled Magazine went behind Rose’s back to publish photos of the star without her consent.

Untitled Magazine published an image of Ruby Rose in a sheer top, exposing her nipple. On Instagram, Rose wrote that she tried to remember the image initially, assuming that she had given consent. She then realized that the photo had been taken eight months ago, and that she had not approved of the photo. To add insult to injury, she also discovered that the magazine had been selling the photo to other publications. What the hell!

Ruby Rose has boldly stepped up on social media, requesting that fans protest the exploitative magazine by refusing to share the photo. “It’s not needed in your collection,” Rose writes. “The difference with working with a friend, and or choosing to use nudity for art, and someone taking the piss & exploiting you is two different things.”

We couldn’t agree more—people’s boundaries around nudity and public exposure should be treated as law. Further, what the hell do you think you are doing trying to make money off of someone else’s image? It doesn’t sound like Ruby Rose was getting a cut from the profits, and if it’s her body then like…shouldn’t she be the one swimming in vaults of hundred dollar bills?

UPDATE: Untitled Magazine has released a statement regarding the photos.
