Nate Dogg died yesterday at 41; the cause of death has yet to be announced, although the rapper/singer suffered from strokes in 2007 and 2008. A Long Beach, California native, Nate Dogg is best known for his collabs with Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Tupac, Warren G, and Eminem and will forever be a voice of G-funk. In 1991, he formed the rap group 213 with both Snoop and Warren G and later Nate Dogg made his debut in Dr. Dre’s The Chronic.
His voice is easily recognizable in Warren G’s “Regulate,” Eminem’s “Shake That,” Dr. Dre’s “Next Episode,” 50 Cent’s “21 Questions, ” and Ludacris’ “Area Codes.” Born Nathaniel Hale, Nate Dogg was four time Grammy nominated and truly contributed to the memorable sounds of hip hop and R&B in the past two decades. His most recent solo album was recorded in 2003-2004 and released in 2008.
